Statues of Downtown Montreal- Our Legacy and Future

The statues of downtown Montreal tell a story of our past, present, and future. What statues decorate our streets and who or what do they represent? How does the community respond to them? And how does this change over time? Come with us on a tour of statues and other public art around the neighbourhood. We will talk about history, cultural and social movements, and how public art ignites conversation around the many meanings of heritage. Your guide is Ashley Huang, a community mobilization agent with the Peter-McGill Neighbourhood Council. She holds a Masters degree in Urban Planning from McGill and is a lifelong artist. We're excited to meet you!
